The Bicol USA Houston Chapter warmly welcomes you to the 30th Annual Convention of the Bikol National Association of America.
For over a couple of decades now, Bicol USA Houston Chapter has been an active member of the Bicol National Association of America (BNAA), the umbrella organization that consolidates all chapter-member organization, efforts, resources and common objectives, that ensures the collective concerns and aspirations of the Bicolanos in the entire continental United States of America.
Bicol USA Houston Chapter has lived up to our goal of serving our fellow Filipino-Americans as well as the Bicolanos in Houston and surrounding cities, and by supporting the various projects of the BNAA in the Bicol region.
Come July 16-18, 2010, we, Bicolanos here in the USA are once again called to bind our minds, hearts and resources together, as we renew our commitment to this great cause- to uplift the lives of our less fortunate Filipinos particularly our fellow Bicolanos! READ MORE |

From February 1 to 5, 2010 Bicol USA Houston Chapter (BUHC) joined Bay Area Camarines Norte Association (BACNA) based in Bay Area, San Francisco, California for the Surgical and Medical Mission held in the Camarines Norte Provincial Hospital in Daet Camarines Norte, Philippines. BUHC was represented by 5 Volunteers from Houston, Texas namely: Fe Dumlao-BUHC member, Eden Fernandez-BUHC member, Cecile Verdejo-BUHC 1st VP, Gwen Zalun-BUHC President, and Archie Zalun-BUHC Past President. There were 37 volunteers which comprised of a talented team of surgeons, anesthesiologist, ophthalmologist, nurses and lay staffs. Sylvia Salvador, President of BACNA was able to grouped volunteers from Kaiser Permanente, S. San Francisco headed by Dr. David Le as the lead surgeon, Dr. Charlene Hsu-Winges, ophthalmologist ALOHA volunteer from Hawaii and Dr. Praxidio Tagala, oby-gyne from Pensylvania USA. READ MORE |

2009 Bicol USA Houston Christmas Party |

“Jesus is the reason for the season”was the theme of the annual Bicol USA Houston Christmas Party, and we would like to thank everybody who attended and helped during the annual Christmas party on December 5, 2009 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church Community Center. Special thanks to Rev Msgr. Rolando Diokno, and the Notre Dame staff for their continued support. Special kudos to Doming Belisario for spearheading the event and all the OFFICERS AND VOLUNTEERS of Bicol USA Houston. The night started with a scrumptious Filipino buffet including some Bicolano dishes like laing and ginataang langka. The program showcased some of Houston’s best talents including Tiffany Dimaano singing “On My Own”, the Win Church Choir and Pastor Ed Santibanez’s special Christmas message, the Nativity Play presented by Bicol Youth, followed by Gift Giving by Santa Claus. Special thanks to the participants of the Nativity play: Marivic Melgarejo, Michael Anderson, Monica Torres, Megan Anderson, Matthew Anderson, (daughter of Ate Binky)Tecson, and Gail Tecson-Ariola. The night ended with a prize-laden raffle and a full dance floor. We are inviting everyone to the Surgical Missions in Camarines Norte on February 1-5, 2010 and the Bikol National Association of America (BNAA) National Convention to be held here in Houston on July 16-18, 2010. Thursday Sept 10, 2009, First day of the novena to our Lady of Peñafarncia when Msgr Roland Diokno officially announced during his homily that our Ina has found her home here in Houston. Her new home will be at the Marian Chapel of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish Church. Fr Paul Lockey the Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton welcomed our Mother enthusiastically and with joy to his Parish. Msgr Diokno announced that every time we celebrate our Penafrancia, a mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and a procession by car will follow going to Notre Dame Catholic Church where the nine day novena will be held culminating on the feast day. After the celebration, Our Ina will be brought back to Her home at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church Marian chapel, where all her children can pray and praise her.

All of this will not materialize without the hardwork, patience and prayers of our beloved couple Henry and Mayette Flores with the assistance of Gwen and Archie Zalun. She is a teacher in High school in one of our high school here in Houston. she is from Albay and her husband is from Libmanan Camarines Sur. She as well taught in college at Colegio De Sta Isabel in Naga City. |

Yesterday, Easter Sunday celebration was a success. Heavy downpour of rain almost ruin our picnic. Thank God that after almost 1 hour of heavy rain and strong wind, Excellent weather followed. We have a lot of foods brought and shared by our officers and members. Everybody was in high spirits when the Sun showed up. We have good food and good Music yesterday. Old and new members were present, The kids enjoyed their egg hunting and the grown ups enjoyed their camaraderie.PICTURES |

During our Easter picnic celebration, oath taking as well took place. Jimbo Torres and Joane Cruz, wife of our active member Baba Cruz of Dayangdang, Naga City. Jimbo Torres is from San Jose Camarines Sur.
Jimbo was appointed as the Governor of Catanduanes and Joane as our Governor of Sorsogon. Abigail Tecson Arreola has been appointed as the Chairperson for Scholarships. Abigail or Gail is the youngest Daughter of the late Mario Tecson Sr. and Zenaida Melgarejo Tecson. Donation to Notre Dame Catholic Church |

The Bicol USA, Houston chapter handed over to Msgr. Rolando Diokno, Parish Priest of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Located at Boone Rd., Houston, Texas the amount of $1,944.10 as a donation to the church last Friday January 23, 2009. Due to the hardwork and cooperation of all officers and members, the organization was able to raise money thru the advertisement and ticket sale proceeds during the 13th induction of officers last November 22 last year. The organization was able to raise funds as well during the Christmas season by visiting our donors houses and serenaded them with Christmas songs.
